In Loving Memory of Stephanie Trahan
January 3, 1959 - May 3, 2023
Forever remembered for her strength, kindness, and selflessness.
Biography
It is with a heavy heart that I write this obituary for my beloved mother, Stephanie Trahan, who passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 64. She was born on January 3, 1959, and she lived a life filled with love, devotion, and selflessness.
Stephanie attended South Terrebonne High School, where she made many lifelong friends. After graduating, she began working at the Terrebonne Parish Main Library, where she spent most of her early adult life. She was passionate about her work, and she loved helping others find the books they were looking for.
As a mother, Stephanie always went above and beyond to provide for her family. She spent several years working at Lumcon as a second job, so she could give her children everything they needed. She was a hard worker and never complained about the long hours.
Later in life, Stephanie dedicated many years to the De La Salle Christian Brothers. She was a devout member of the church, and her devotion earned her the status of Member. She was proud of the work she did with the Brothers and loved decorating the chapels and helping with events.
Stephanie was also a talented softball player and spent many years playing the sport she loved. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to try out for different sports and always cheered them on from the sidelines.
However, Stephanie's greatest accomplishment was always her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything in the world. She was always there for them, no matter what, and nothing brought her more joy than seeing them happy.
Stephanie was a generous and thoughtful person who always put others first. She loved giving extravagant gifts and watching the joy on her loved ones' faces as they opened them. She was the most selfless and kind woman I have ever known, and her love will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Stephanie is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large community of friends and loved ones. While we deeply mourn her passing, her memory will be kept alive by those who loved her.
♥ Rest in peace, Mom.
Precious Moments in Time

Memories
Please enjoy some of the wonderful stories Stephanie has crafted throughout her life:
Blair M.
"There were these sandals that were so popular that everyone had them! I wanted a pair so badly! They had some at Walmart that were almost identical dupes, and Amber and I wanted some. Your mom did not hesitate to buy Amber and me a pair of those sandals. It has always stuck with me because I know she didn't have extra to give, but she always treated me like her own. She was so understanding and genuine. I always felt comfortable talking to Mrs. Stephanie!!"
Becky S.
"Besides the wonderful times we had, Pokeno was lots of fun. We tried to win so your mom would not, as she always won the challenge - which was the best, and she loved it. When it was her turn to host, you can bet the food was phenomenal! I miss those days and will forever miss her."
Amber R.
"My memories and stories of Mom are simply about her - her heart, her unconditional love for everyone, especially my kids. She always made sure they were thought of, with random acts of kindness like calling me to say she had some stuff for the kids. Never even asked for anything, she just did it for them. She always wanted to include us in family get-togethers, even though I'm not blood-related. I wish my own mom was like that. It's sad when your friends' families love you more than your own. For that, I'm forever grateful for how your family has been towards me and my kids."
Kylie S.
"I have so many memories, but my favorites have to be the ones when we were planning and preparing for my wedding. She was there for it all: my bachelorette party, my wedding shower, and helped in every way to make decorations for my wedding."
Jessica A.
"Mrs. Stephanie became more like a second mom to me over the years than anything. She was the joy to our teenage years and was always there whenever she was needed. She was a woman who took the word family serious, and you didn't have to be blood to be so. She always treated me just like she did her own kids and I will forever cherish the time I had with her. One of my favorite memories was always, for soe reason, the weekend trips "down the bayou" with them and going to mawmaw's to eat shrimp and okra gumbo! It always just gave me a feeling of "HOME"!"
